You pay a flat $150 service call online. That covers the trip and a standard car or house unlock. Extra work — a cut key, a rekey, or a smart lock — is quoted on site and approved in writing before it starts.

Will they damage my door, window, or paint?

Accepted Answer

Non-destructive entry is always attempted first: air wedges and long-reach tools on vehicles, single-pin picking or bypass on residential locks. Drilling is a last resort and only happens with your explicit written approval, which almost never comes up on a standard lockout.

What proof do I need to show?

For a house lockout, a government ID matching the address or a lease, utility bill, or mail delivered to the property. For a vehicle, your registration, insurance card, or a rental agreement. This protects you as much as it protects us — it's the step that keeps your locks from being opened by someone else.

Are the locksmiths licensed and insured?

Every technician in the network carries the license their state or city requires, $1M liability coverage, and passes an annual background screening. Lockout Rescue is a dispatch and referral service; the work is performed by independent local contractors who show photo ID on arrival.

Can you make a new key if mine is lost, not just locked inside?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most vehicle techs cut and program transponder keys and proximity fobs on site, and residential techs carry blanks plus rekeying kits for common Kwikset, Schlage, and Baldwin cylinders. Mention it in the notes field so the right tech and inventory get assigned.

Do you work on apartments, rentals, and leased cars?

All three, as long as you can show you're the resident or the authorized driver. For rentals we can also open a trunk or glovebox so you can retrieve the rental agreement, and many property managers accept our invoice directly.

If the progress bar stalls or the arrival window passes, call dispatch at (888) 555-0199 and we reassign to the next available technician immediately. If we can't get anyone to you, the service call is refunded to the original card.
